The trio of Nguyen Ngoc Tram, Bui Ngoc Nhi and Hoang Thi Thu Uyen performed consistently throughout the competition, defeating Nepal in the quarterfinals and Chinese Taipei in the semifinals before beating Iran in the final to take the title.

It is a meaningful opening gold for Vietnam's delegation at this year's Asian Games.
