Lam Dong Declares Emergency on Prenn Pass After Landslides
Lam Dong Province has declared a state of emergency on the Prenn mountain pass following a series of landslides.
At one serious site, a slope 20 to 25 meters high and about 120 meters long has become unstable, posing a direct threat to traffic through the area. Local authorities have put up warning signs and deployed round-the-clock crews to respond quickly.
The province plans to spend about VND 15.64 billion reinforcing the slope with steel mesh and anchor cables to secure the vital route into Da Lat city for the long term.
