HCMC to Cut Power and Water to Illegal Construction Sites From October 1

Ho Chi Minh City's People's Council has passed a resolution allowing power and water to be cut off at construction sites that violate regulations, effective October 1.

The measure applies to buildings constructed without permits, in breach of zoning plans, or in violation of fire safety and environmental rules. Owners of violating sites will first receive a written order to stop work.

If they still fail to comply, power and water to the site will be cut within 24 hours, a move intended to strengthen deterrence and put an end to long-running violations.
