Delayed Transport Projects to Have Funding Reallocated

The Prime Minister has ordered funds to be moved from slow-disbursing transport projects to those that can be carried out faster, in a push to speed up public investment.

According to official reports, by the end of August 2026 the country had disbursed only about 38% of the more than VND 255 trillion in public investment earmarked for transport, with many key projects still below 30% of their annual plan.

The reallocation is expected to concentrate resources on projects that are progressing well, avoid waste and help meet this year's public investment disbursement targets.
